At least 16 VLGC newbuildings have been ordered with LPG fuelling to date out of 35 pure LPG carriers currently on the orderbook.
The first of these vessels are not due to be delivered until the second quarter of next year, which will leave BW LPG’s four retrofitted VLGCs as the pioneers to emerge sailing on LPG, if their dry-dockings run to the new schedules from June.
