George Procopiou's Dynacom Tankers emerges as buyer of NS United VLCC

One day after reports emerged of Japan's NS United selling a 15-year old VLCC to a Greek owner, TradeWinds understands that George Procopiou is the successful buyer.

Initially, Charalambos Mylonas-led Transmed Shipping was believed to have acquired the 302,000-dwt Yugawasan (built 2005) for $33.3m, as TradeWinds reported on 2 April.

On Friday, however, usually reliable market sources in Athens and London identified Procopiou’s Dynacom Tankers as the vessel’s buyer, at about the same price.
