Thoresen Shipping has returned to the secondhand market after nearly two years, buying a supramax from the fleet of Diamond Bulk Carriers.
The Singapore shipowner said it paid $14.1m for the 58,600-dwt Draco Ocean (built 2013), which has been renamed Thor Chaichana.
Thoresen said the acquisition was designed to help renew its fleet of 22 vessels, which has a current age of nearly 13 years.
