Sonangol, the Angolan oil company, has shortlisted four shipyards in its tender to build up to four 157,000-dwt crude tanker newbuildings.
South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries and Daehan Shipbuilding, and China’s New Times Shipbuilding are all said to have qualified.
Sonangol is understood to have floated the suezmax tender last month. It is seeking two firm newbuildings to be delivered in 2022.
