Wallenius Wilhelmsen is bracing for a major reduction in ocean volumes as the coronavirus puts the brakes on vehicle production worldwide.
The privately-held Norwegian operator of 130 ro-ros expects a 20% hit to the first quarter as Covid-19 forces parts makers in Asia to suspend operations and leaves automobile manufacturers short of supply.
"This is a global issue that strains supply chains and requires a proactive response from us all", chief executive Craig Jasienski said in a statement.
