Greece’s Astra Shipmanagement has taken advantage of underwhelming dry bulk markets to cut the age profile of its fleet.
The Aris and Stefanos Koropoulis-led company confirmed selling the 48,900-dwt Globetrotter (built 2001) to undisclosed buyers.
“Our Globetrotter has been a crowd favourite for years, but it was time to let her go,” Astra managing director Aris Koropoulis told TradeWinds.
But he declined to comment on reports that the Nantong Cosco-built ship fetched about $4.9m.
