The threat of sanctions from the US government has shipping companies digging deep into their counterparties, with no idea when enough is enough.
"From a practical standpoint [sanctions have forced] significant transparency in an industry that's not necessarily known for its transparency," Guardian Navigation general counsel Molly McCafferty said at the Hellenic-American/Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce Joint Shipping Conference in New York Tuesday.
