Japan in second bid to resolve DSME subsidy row with South Korea

Call for another round of talks at WTO as Tokyo uncovers more subsidies

Japan has made an application for a second round of talks with South Korea under the World Trade Organization (WTO) over alleged subsidies it made to bail out shipbuilder DSME.

Officials have alleged that the South Korean government approved some KRW 12trn ($10bn) in state supports to DSME between 2015 and 2017 to see the shipbuilder through its financial difficulties.
