Shipowners organisation Bimco has banned travel to Asia following the coronavirus outbreak.
The international body said it organises training courses, seminars, subcommittee meetings and working groups worldwide.
But it added: "As a consequence of the current spread of coronavirus, Bimco has decided that no Bimco staff can travel to the Far East until further notice."
As a further precaution, it said that anyone who had been to China in the 14 days leading up to an event would also not be allowed to attend anywhere in the world.
