Two elderly Chinese woodchip carriers have reportedly been sold for recycling in Bangladesh this week.
Scrap industry sources said the 46,900-dwt Uni Harvest and 44,700-dwt Uni Glory (both built 1991) achieved a demolition price of $381 per ldt.
This equates to $3.61m for the Uni Harvest and $3.53m for the Uni Glory.
The ownership of the ships since they last changed hands and adopted the Uni nomenclature several years ago remains something of a mystery.
