Japanese shipowning giant NYK Line is making a push into the domestic wind farm vessel sector through joint venture agreements with Van Oord and Northern Offshore Group (NOG).
The company said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dutch group Van Oord to own and operate offshore wind installation ships under the Japanese flag.
They aim to start operating a jack-up vessel in Japan by 2022 at the earliest.
