Shearwater GeoServices has taken over seismic vessel operator CGG's fleet, which means the seismic market now consists of just three vessel-owning companies.
The pair signed a binding term sheet in June and completed the transaction on Wednesday.
As well as Shearwater, the two other seismic shipowners remaining in the market are Polarcus and PGS.
