Velos Tankers, a new shipping venture set up by Paschalis Diamantides, has resumed its impressive acquisition drive with the purchase of an LR1 product carrier from Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), according to market sources.
The Greek company reportedly bought the 75,000-dwt long-range-one tanker Grace Victoria (built 2007) for nearly $15.3m, UK brokers and Athens-based shipping industry players said.
Executives at Velos Tankers, which is led by general manager Iakovos Michail Chondrogiannos, did not respond to a request for comment by the time of writing.
