Bergen-based EGD Shipholding is in the process of selling its oldest tanker.
Brokers said the 48,000-dwt Susanne Victory (built 2000) was committed to a Chinese buyer for $8.5m.
EGD Shipholding chief executive Magne Ovreaas declined to comment on reports that the Sanoyas Shipbuilding-constructed ship has been sold.
The reported price appears high relative to market estimates, with Maritime Strategies International putting the ship's value at $6.4m
