South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries Group (HHI) has submitted its application to the European Union (EU) for clearance of its mega-merger with compatriot DSME.
The yard group said its bid will be reviewed by anti-trust authorities at the European Commission.
A result is expected next year.
