BNP Paribas, the world’s biggest lender to shipping by some measure, is to sign up to the Poseidon Principles banking code that aims to encourage shipowners to cut carbon emissions.
Logan Chong, managing director of BNP Paribas, said the initiative was in line with the bank's aim of encouraging sustainable growth and it would formally join when the next membership round is completed.
