Arrest activity in Singapore ramped up with seizures of a Gudzon Shipping-owned multipurpose vessel and a Pacific Shipmanagement-controlled bunker tanker.
This latest round of arrests kicked off last Tuesday when the Sheriff of Singapore’s office issued an arrest warrant against Russian shipowner Gudzon’s 8,700-dwt MPP ship Sevastopol (built 2001) at the request of local ship agents Kingsgate Maritime Agency.
Court records indicate that Kingsgate is seeking an indemnity for port dues totalling SGD 366,000 ($269,000).
