Samsung Heavy Industries has firmed up orders from Evergreen for six 23,000-teu containerships in a deal worth $920m.
The newbuildings, which are due to be delivered by May 2022, will be the world’s largest containerships by eight twenty-foot equivalent containers.
The Evergreen vessels will have a nominal capacity of 23,764-teu versus the 23,756-teu of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) newbuildings also building at Samsung.
