Shipbrokers will likely continue to provide data to the Baltic Exchange when a three-year standstill agreement ends later this year, despite some brokers claiming they receive a “raw deal” from the current arrangement.
Currently, brokers provide freight market data free of charge — beyond receiving minor concessions such as having membership fees waived — to the Baltic to compile its indices.
