Tankers International (TI) is creating a pioneering pool for scrubber-fitted VLCCs in a move bringing together owners like Hunter Group and Hartree Maritime Partners.
The formation of the Scrubber Pool was revealed by Norway's Hunter in a statement on Wednesday.
It said it will place its newbuilding VLCCs with TI "after careful consideration".
TI will commercially manage the ships when they are delivered from DSME in Korea from this month.
