Samsung Heavy Industries has secured a newbuilding contract for two suezmax tankers in a deal worth KRW 147m ($125m).
It declined to identify the counterparty other than to describe them as a ‘Panamanian’ shipowner. The ships will be delivered by March 2021.
The 150,000-dwt ships will come complete with ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems installed.
