CSIC Leasing has sealed a charter contract on two capesize newbuildings with Germany’s Oldendorff Carriers.
A source familiar with the deal said the German company had taken the 180,000-dwt pair on a long-term basis from the financial leasing arm of state-owned conglomerate China Shipbuilding Industry Co (CSIC).
Details were not disclosed, but shipping players suggested the charter could be at least seven years, with options to extend.
