Miami-based SunStone Ships has ordered its seventh expedition cruiseship at China Merchants Heavy Industry, president and CEO Niels-Erik Lund revealed today.
The vessel is the latest in a series of polar-classed, Ulstein-designed, 7,900-gt cruiseships that SunStone is building against long-term charters to expedition cruise operators.
Operators including Aurora Expeditions and Victory Cruise Lines have been quick to snap up the ships, and it is strongly rumoured in cruise circles that Poseidon Expeditions will also charter one as a replacement for an older ship it charters from SunStone.
