The OSV recovery has prompted French shipping giant Bourbon to bring a series of ships out of layup.
It said the upturn in rates appears to have started in the first quarter.
Five platform supply vessels (PSVs) have been reactivated to meet demand.
It has also brought back an unspecified number of vessels in its Bourbon Mobility crewboat business, and scrapped others that were too old to bring out of layup.
