TransPetrol Maritime hikes earnings for MR tanker with BP charter

Belgian owner TransPetrol Maritime Services is set for higher revenues from one of its MR tankers after it was fixed for a year by BP.

European shipbrokers said the 50,000-dwt Luctor (built 2011) has been fixed at $14,250 per day.

The ship is coming off a charter to Castleton Commodities International at $13,850 per day.

The deal comes as time-charter rates for MR tonnage is moving markedly higher.
