Axel Eitzen has tapped into his old network in Japan to grow the fleet of Christiania Shipping.
Eitzen, who engineered a takeover of the former Herning Shipping last year, said today’s deal is an important step forward for the company.
Christiania has inked a long-term bareboat charter with Kitanihon Shipbuilding for the 12,600-dwt Stellar Wisteria (built 2011).
Clarksons and UNIVERship brokered the transaction, for which the terms have not been disclosed.
