John Angelicoussis-backed Maran Tankers’ latest order at Daehan Shipbuilding is understood to have emerged from an option picked up in a resale deal last year.
As TradeWinds reported this week, South Korea’s Daehan has secured its first newbuilding deal of the year from the Greek shipowner.
The Haenam-based shipbuilder said Maran signed up for a suezmax by exercising an option it held for a 158,000-dwt tanker at Daehan that was linked to an order placed at the yard in November.
