The Baltic Exchange is pushing to update its tanker indices with the likely introduction of five new routes.
A public trial spanning new routes in the VLCC, suezmax, aframax and medium range sector was announced at the end of the business day in London on Friday.
Brokers welcomed the development, which reflects changing trading patterns in the tanker sector.
