Marcus Baker, global marine leader at Marsh, will continue to lead the giant US broker’s marine team following its acquisition of rival JLT.
Both Marsh and JLT are heavy weights in marine insurance brokerage and the acquisition is expected to cement Marsh’s position as market leader.
However, there is much speculation in the marine insurance industry over which of the brokers from both sides will hold the senior positions in the combined entity when it is formed following approval from antitrust and regulatory authorities.
