Russian energy producer Novatek is working to open up the Northern Sea Route (NSR) to shipping on a year-round basis as it starts work on its second Arctic-based liquefaction project.
Speaking at CWC's World LNG Summit in Lisbon Novatek chief financial officer and deputy chair of the management board Mark Gyetvay said Novatek is working very closely with the Russian government to build out the nuclear ice-breaker fleet to optimise transportation along the route.
