Hamburg-based Chemikalien Seetransport (CST) has acquired compatriot chemical and product tanker specialist Rigel Schiffahrts.
Although it is intended that Bremen-based Rigel will remain a legally independent company, the takeover will create a combined fleet of 33 tankers and bulk carriers.
CST, part of the Kramer Group, has purchased for an undisclosed price 100% of the shares of Rigel which handles technical management of a fleet comprising eight chemical tankers and three product tankers ranging from 13,916 cbm to 42,630 cbm.
