Belgium’s Exmar has fixed its barge-based, floating LNG (FLNG) production unit to Argentinian energy company YPF.
News of the deal sent shares in the company racing on Wednesday morning before cooling a little in afternoon trading.
The unit, which the shipowner has been trying to find employment for since its original charterer went bankrupt in 2016, is contracted to YPF for 10 years under a tolling agreement relating to LNG production.
