Algoma Central Corp has made a rare excursion into the secondhand tanker market, picking up a 10-year-old ship for its domestic fleet.
The Canadian shipowner said it had purchased a 2008-built, 16,958-dwt product tanker. But it did not identify the ship or the price paid.
Last week TradeWinds reported that Swedish tanker owner Alvtank Rederi had confirmed the sale of its 16,900-dwt Ramira (built 2008).
