Oslo-listed Avance Gas is considering converting some of its ships to run on LPG fuel.
This is one route under examination on the road to IMO 2020.
The VLGC owner said it may also install scrubbers or use low sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) as it evaluates how best to become compliant.
The company added that it expects the freight market from 2020 to reflect higher prices on compliant fuel.
