Singapore-based Vasi Shipping is in the process of selling its only owned containership for recycling.
Managing director Captain Venkat Padmanabhan told TradeWinds that reports by brokers that a deal had been lined up to sell the 1,368-teu containership Vasi Sun (built 1990) to Bangladesh for $470 per ldt or $3.5m are premature.
“The ship is not yet sold. We are still negotiating,” he said on Wednesday.
