Arne Fredly’s Hunter has taken its first step in VLCC market consolidation, teaming up with fellow newcomer Hartree Maritime Partners to create a pool for scrubber-fitted eco VLCCs.
Oslo-listed Hunter is also taking supervision of the four VLCCs Hartree has under construction at DSME, a statement to investors explained.
“By combining Hartree's global trading and chartering experience and Hunter's technical knowledge this pool will serve to minimise operational costs whilst maximising earnings,” said Guy Merison, managing director of New York-based owner Hartree Maritime Partners.
