Norwegian owner Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) is closing in on a South American seismic data contract.
It is mobilising its 3,500-dwt Atlantic Guardian (built 2001) shortly at the request of the unnamed customer, it said.
The work will last between one and two months.
The company will be compensated for mobilisation and demobilisation costs if no contract is awarded.
The project could start in the fourth quarter.
