Tanker sale and purchase activity is running hot as owners seek bargains at the bottom of the cycle, according to a respected Greek brokerage.
Intermodal says 72 tankers over 33,000-dwt have changed hands in the last three months. The figure includes 43 crude carriers.
“As brokers we can say that even if there were twice as many ships available for sale there would still be buyers left hungry for tonnage,” wrote Timos Papadimitriou in the brokerage’s latest weekly report.
