Cypriot owner Andreas Hadjiyiannis is believed to have purchased one or two boxships, which would be the largest to join his fleet, in a deal that suggests a drop in values.
Some Greek and US-based brokers identify Hadjiyiannis company Cyprus Maritime as the buyer of the 6,492-teu NYK Aphrodite (built 2003).
A few others say the deal also included the sistership NYK Artemis (built 2003).
