New Trade Ship Management, a Greek shipowner that has been operating under the radar since its launch in 2012, has moved into a bigger ship size by adding a supramax bulker to its fleet.
New Trade founder and principal Tim Pournaras confirmed the company had acquired the 53,500-dwt Fortune Unity (built 2006) for $10.7m over the summer.
Previously controlled by Japanese interests, the Iwagi Zosen-built vessel is the biggest unit in New Trade’s fleet of four ships.
