NYK is the owner behind Samsung Heavy Industries' latest LNG carrier order.
The Japanese giant said it had contracted the KRW 200bn ($180m) newbuilding backed by a seven-year charter to French energy major Total Gas & Power Chartering.
There is an optional charter extension period of 12 months.
The 174,000-cbm ship is due in 2021.
Samsung had announced a deal for the ship on Monday, but did not reveal the owner.
