The Panama Canal has reached a new milestone for LNG carrier transits.
It said that four vessels up to 49 metres wide had passed through the Neopanamax locks in a single day on Monday for the first time.
In April, the record was set when three ships made the transit.
The 173,000-cbm Ribera del Duero Knutsen (built 2010) and the 174,000-cbm Maran Gas Pericles (built 2016) headed north, while the 174,000-cbm Torben Spirit (built 2017) and 155,300-cbm Oceanic Breeze (built 2018) headed south.
