Denmark's Maersk Line has completed a successful trial of a boxship through the Northern Sea Route (NSR) in the Arctic.
But it said it does not see the route as a viable commercial proposition at the moment.
The 3,596-teu Baltic feeder newbuilding Maersk Venta arrived at St Petersburg in Russia on Friday after leaving Vladivostok on 22 August.
The route included further stops in Vostochny and Busan, before passing through the Bering Strait on 6 September en route to Bremerhaven.
