Japanese shipowner MOL is planning to team up with Turkey's Karpowership to provide a floating storage and regasification unit that can be used to supply gas to what looks set to become the world’s first floating gas-fired power plant.
Industry sources told TradeWinds that the two companies want to convert the MOL-controlled, 127,000-cbm LNG carrier Dwiputra (built 1994) into an FSRU.
