India has given permission for two Iranian P&I clubs to step into the insurance breach created by US sanctions.
The government has cleared Kish P&I Club and Qeshm International Trust Alliance to provide cover of up to $1bn for tankers carrying Iranian crude up to February 2020, the Business Line reported.
This will help to continue oil imports.
