Greek shipowner Times Navigation has begun expanding in the capesize arena after scooping supramaxes on the secondhand market, the company has revealed.
Following a triple supramax purchase in July, the Athens-based company confirmed a memorandum of agreement last week to acquire the 57,000-dwt U Noble (built 2012) for $12m. The Chinese-controlled vessel, built at Xiamen Shipbuilding, is to be delivered in October.
