Pangaea Logistics' second-quarter results returned to the positive side of the ledger as business "picked up" from a year ago.
The Ed Coll-led company posted $5.8m in net income compared to a $4.7m loss during the same period last year.
“The pace of our shipping operations really picked up in the second quarter”, chief executive Coll said.
Pangaea's fleet employment during the period skipped to 47 ships while charter rates averaged $13,728 per day, up from $11,333 a year earlier, he said.
