While many Lloyd’s syndicates are looking to cut back on marine underwriters, Markel International has bucked the trend and added a senior underwriter to its team.
Markel, a part of the giant US-based Markel Corp that operates at Lloyd’s as Syndicate 3000, said it has taken on Simon Engelen to be its senior marine and energy liability underwriter to enhance its Lloyd’s business.
