Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Maritime has increased its presence in the VLCC market in a deal with CM Lemos that sees the Greek owner edge towards an exit from the sector.
Zodiac and Lemos company Nereus Shipping had been negotiating a transaction worth around $66m involving the 298,500-dwt sisterships Symphonic and Gloric (both built 2006), as TradeWinds reported last week.
Now, market sources indicate a deal for one of the VLCCs has been agreed; however, there was uncertainty as to which one was changing hands.
