SK Shipping has ordered an MR tanker for an estimated $38m on the back of a period charter to Cargill.
The South Korean shipowner has commissioned Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) to construct the 50,000-dwt product carrier for delivery during the second half of 2019. The deal does not include any options.
A tanker market source familiar with SK Shipping confirmed the order and added that it was placed against a charter with US commodities trader Cargill.
